There are now various cheaper versions on the market, one of which is the Aldom Massage Gun. The Aldom Massage Gun price is £69.99 but is often discounted and at time of writing is priced at £44.99.
Therabody and Hyperice are leading the way for percussion instruments that help to massage the muscle for improved recovery. But they are higher priced than the alternatives on the market. Although, the cheaper models have become popular sellers among fitness enthusiasts and athletes, they don’t always provide the quality and reliability of Therabody and Hyperice.

Aldom Massage Gun Design
It looks like many other models (such as the Hoposo Massage Gun we have also reviewed) and is priced similarly to many of the lesser known brands that are frequently sold on Amazon.
The guns is made out of metal, plastic and rubber materials but generally looks and feel well made. It weighs 1.2kg so it won’t feel the lightest device in your hand, but it doesn’t hinder your massage experience. In fact, a bit of added weight to apply pressure to the muscles help’s will help when wanting to a deeper massage.
Aldom Massage Gun Attachments
The Aldom Massage Gun comes with the standard 6 attachments that you will find in most of the lesser known massage gun brands.
The attachments are suitable for targeting different muscle groups, which include:
- a ball attachment – used for deep tissue massage on larger areas of the body such as the leg. Also, the ball has a softer surface and is more suitable for any areas that are slightly bonier such as the back.
- a flat head attachment – again used for larger parts of the body. Ideal to use on chest and leg.
- a fork attachment – in the shape of a ‘U’ it is ideal for working around bony areas, tendons and ligaments such as muscles close to the joints.
- a bullet attachment – a pointed attachment that can be used for deep tissue massage. Ideal to use on trigger points or smaller muscle areas.
- a thumb attachment – similar to the flat head attachment but is smaller in size. Can be used on smaller muscles but provides less of a trigger point massage like the bullet attachment.
- a spade or ‘wedge’ attachment – for scraping movements on the shoulders and IT bands. Can be used for deep tissue or lighter massage.
Aldom Massage Gun Speed and Power
The Aldom Massage Gun tries to set it aside from other similar priced massage guns through its large range of speeds.
I don’t believe this is a huge advantage to other guns that have fewer speed options. The incremental change in speed by one level does not have any major effect on your recovery or massage. In fact, you will find yourself skipping a few levels each time you want a significant speed change.
However, Aldom recommends the following speed settings for the type of use:
- LEVEL 1-4:Relaxing your body
- LEVEL 5-8: Warming Up before doing exercise
- LEVEL 9-12: Rehabilitation Training
- LEVEL 13-20: Relaxation of the fascia
- LEVEL 21-25: Deep tissue muscle massage
- LEVEL 26-30: Professional whole body massage
At 4,800 RPM you would expect the power to be good. Although, customer reviews claim that the power can begin to reduce over time. However, this has also been a common report from other similar priced massage guns sold frequently on Amazon.
Aldom Massage Gun Noise
Aldom state their gun includes noise reduction technology. With the noise level between 35 and 45 db this can be described as a noise ranging from a quiet hum to a sounds level similar to rainfall.
Our Verdict
Aldom Massage Gun is another massage gun that represents good value for money. In fact, it looks almost identical to Hoposo Massage Gun with exactly the same features and settings. If any of these devices take your fancy then there won’t be much (if any) difference between the two.
The motor and longevity I doubt will be as good as leading brands such as Therabody and Hyperice. So, if you are a serious athlete or professional therapist then I’d recommend Therabody and Hyperice over the Aldom Massage Gun. But if you are just looking for a massage gun to use at home that has all the settings, attachments and good enough motor to help recover muscles then Aldom (and Hoposo) is a good choice.
Aldom doesn’t have a designated website which can sometimes create a little doubt in my mind, particularly in terms of customer service. They frequently sell their product through Amazon and from the customer reviews, they are responsive to customer feedback and complaints. Many customers have updated negative reviews to state they received free replacements if anything didn’t meet customer expectations.
Pro’s
- Good value for money
- Quiet motor
- Speed settings and attachments that you would expect from a standard massage gun
- Includes a carrier case
Con’s
- Battery cannot be replaced
- The 30 speed levels does not provide any additional value
- Aldom do not have a company website
What We Can Establish From The Customer Reviews
Most of the reviews are 4 or 5 stars out of 5. Aldom have been responsive when customers have provided poor reviews, particularly when there has been a defect with the device.
The 4 and 5 star reviews report the product is good value for money and are happy with the power of the massage.
The lower rating reviews (the minority of the overall reviews) have reported that their device arrived with some defects, particularly with the battery. The main report is that it doesn’t charge properly or does not live up to the battery life expectations.
